Daly NORTH CAROLINA, LENOIR COUNTY THIS DEED, made this 31st day of October, 1918, by A.T. Uzzell and wife Addie C. Uzzell of Wayne County, and State of North Carolina, parties of the first part, to James R. Daly of Lenoir County, and State of North Carolina, party of the second part: WITNESSETH: That said parties of the first part, in consideration of Sixteen Hundread and Sixty –ficve and 26/100 ($1665.26) Dollars to them paid and ? to be paid by the said party of the second part, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have bargained and sold, and by these presents, do bargain, sell and convey to the said party of the second part and his heirs, all of that certain tract of land in said County and State, described as follows: being tract number five (5) situated near the town of Seven Springs on plat of property formerly owned by Miss Jonnie Kornegay, and now known as Kornegay farm, as surveyed and plotted by M.M. Worthington, which said plat or map is recorded in Book 1 at page 34, of Public Registry of Lenoir County. Reference to said map is hereby made for a more perfect description: Tract number 5 containing 31.42 acres. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the aforesaid tract of land and all privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging to the said party of the second part, and his heirs and assigns, to them and their only behoof. And the said parties of the first part covenant that they are seized of said premises in fee and have the right to convey the same in fee simple, that the same is free from all incumbrances, and that they the said parties of the first part, will warrant and defend the said title to the same against claims of all persons whomsoever. IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, the said party of the first part have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year above written. A.T. Uzzell (Seal) Addie C. Uzzell, his wife appeared before me this day and acknowledged the due execution of the annexed deed of conveyance and the said Addie C Uzzell being by me privately examined separate and apart from her said husband, touching her voluntary execution of the same, doth state that she signed the same freely and voluntarily, without fear or compulsion of her said husband or any other person, and that she doth still voluntarily assent thereto.
