Term 1868 State of North Carolina Lenoir County To the Worshipful The Justices of the Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions Jany. Term 1868 The petition of the undersigned Citizens of said County Humbly complaining. Your Petitioners respectfully Show unto your Worships that there is needed a Publick Road starting from near John H. ALDRIDGE running in a northwardly direction to Thomas H. DAWSONS lands thence eastwardly across said DAWSONS lands & James M. PATRICK, Francis A. BROTHERS & others to the publick road leading through Lenoir Instititute & thence from said road eastwardly across the lands of B. W. PRIDGEN first? Robt. BEST, Lenoir PATE, Lemuel BYRD & others to the Hull road & across said road to Wheat Swamp between the lands of N. J. ALLEN & Will A. LASITER, Greene County line. Your Petitioners do therefore pray that your worships will duly consider the premises and if adjudged expident will order a Jury of good & lawful men to be legally summoned to view the ground & lay off & mark a new publick road the nearest & best way from the road near John H. ALLDRIDGES through by Lenoir Institute to Green County line with as little prejudice to as may be to enclosures and make report of their proceeding according to law, And that your worships will from time to time make the necessary orders of Court for carrying the same into effect.
