BROTHERS-1873 ("to be re-enrolled"-handwritten on top of deed) State of North Carolina Wayne County This Indenture made and entered into on the 10th day of February 1873 between W. B. REID of the first part and J. W. BROTHERS of the second part witnesseth that the said W. B. REID for and in consideration of the sum of Three Hundred Dollars to him in hand paid (the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged) hath this day bargained, sold and conveyed unto the said J. W. BROTHERS his heirs and assigns a certain piece or tract of land lying and being in the County of Lenoir and State of North Carolina at Lenoir Institute, bounded as follows, viz: Beging at the south west corner of the lot formally belonging to Wm. M. WALSH and running with the street nearly west to J. W. BROTHERS line. Thence with said J. W. BROTHERS line to the North west corner of the lot formally belonging to Wm. M. WALSH then with said line south 19 1/2 west to the beginning, containing by estimation three and a half acres more or less, together with the improvements privileges and appurtances thereon to have and to hold to him the said J. W. BROTHERS his heirs and assigns and the said W. B. REID for himself his heirs and assigns doth warrant and defend the right and title of the said piece or tract of land against all lawfull claim or claims, of any person whatsoever to the said J. W. BROTHERS his heirs and assigns forever.In Testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal the day and date above mentioned. W.B. REID North Carolina Wayne Co. In Probate Court The due execution of the foregoing deed was this day acknowledged before me by W. B. REID the Grantor. It having been duly certified to the undersigned, Probate Judge of said County by Geo. Jno. ROBINSON, Probate Judge of Wayne County, under his official seal, that the execution of the foregoing deed has been duly acknowledged before him.
