CAMERON to his father. Little Rockfish Aug. 23th 1868 Dear Father, I received your letter dated June the 25th some ten days ago. It was a long time on the way or mis mailed or something that I did not get it sooner tho it gave me great satisfaction to heare from you all. It found us all tolerable were have the chills and fever tho. I think I have got shet of them again. I have not had one in something over two weeks. Loouvenia and the children are tolerable well at presant. I will rite you something that I gues will supprise you or it did me. Francis had a son last Saturday weak 15th tho it is very small and said to be a 7 months chile, it was so small that it did not suck for severael days at first tho it suck now and seames to be doing tolerable well. Francis is getting along very well. Louvenia staid with her several days one of Jim's sisters is to be married next Thursday 27th inst. To a Mr. MCARTHUR near neighbor Brother William got his leg brok be low the nea some eight weaks ago from priming up the Mill and fel on him tho he is getting very well. Present times is very hard up here and money scarce tho we have the prospect of a very good crop of corn and pease. I think I will from the presant prospect mak pease a nough to fatten my hogs this fall if they bear acording to the looks of the vines now my potatoes looks only tolerable William grabled onto a few yesterday that don tolerable well.
