Croom about the matter of your still he said he could not tell me anything about it at all, he was told about it by a confidential friend, & by promise was not to say anything about the matter only to put you on your guard. I ask him if he would answer one question & he refused to do it – the question was do the busy person intend to make whiskey that is medling with your still, and he told me he could not answer that question, & you can judge who it s but you say nothing. I will attend to it. I will write to R. C. Kehoe today & find out if anything is further required than registered or not for use at present. Jan 4 1876. C.
