                                            Kinston NC
                                             Jan 31 1866

This is to certify that Mr. Whitfield Graddy of Lenoir County has this day 
returned to me one bay mule Eight years old and that hearing the evidence with 
regard to his claim to said mule has decided ? the Government of the US has no 
claim to him.
