Brown, Powell, Private
Company C, 27th Regiment NC Troops
Resided in Lenoir County where he enlisted at age 34, April 17, 1861. Present 
or accounted for until wounded at Sharpsburg, Maryland, September 17, 1862. 
Returned to duty on an unspecified date. Deserted on December 8, 1864, but 
returned to duty on January 27, 1865. Deserted again on February 7, 1865.
