Resided in Lenoir County where he enlisted at age 33, April 17, 1861. Deserted 
on August 6, 1861. Returned to duty proir to November 1, 1861. Deserted on May 
30, 1862. Returned to duty on an unspecified date. Deserted on December 8, 
1864.
