Edgley, John, Private
Company C, 27th Regiment NC Troops
Resided in Lenoir County where he enlisted at age 27, April 17, 1861. Wounded 
at Wilderness, Virginia, on or about May 5, 1864. Returned to duty on an 
unspecified date. Deserted to the enemy on or about March 16, 1865. Confined 
at Washington, DC, until released on or about March 24, 1865, after taking the 
Oath of Allegiance.
