Herring, Leonidas, Private
Company C, 27th Regiment NC Troops
Resided in Lenoir County where he enlisted at age 32, May 6, 1862, for the 
war. Present or accounted for until he died in hospital at Petersburg, 
Virgina, July 26, 1862, of "meningitis."
