Potter, James, Private
Company C, 27th Regiment N.C. Troops
Resided in Lenoir County where he enlisted at age 28, April 17, 1861. Wounded 
in the left shoulder at Fredericksburg, Virginia, December 13, 1862. Returned 
to duty on January 12, 1863. Wounded in the left leg at Reams' Station, 
Virginia, August 25, 1864. Retired from service on November 8, 1864.
