Potter, John, Private
Company C, 27th Regiment N.C. Troops
Resided in Lenoir County where he enlisted at age 30, April 17, 1861. Wounded 
at Sharpsburg, Maryland, September 17, 1862. Returned to duty on an 
unspecified date. Wounded at Wilderness, Virginia, on or about May 5, 1864. 
Deserted on August 25, 1864.
