Troops Resided in Lenoir County and enlisted in Craven County at age 21, July 15, 1861. Wounded at Wilderness, Virginia, on or about May 5, 1864. Returned to duty prior to June 15, 1864, when he was wounded in the arm at or near Petersburg, Virginia. Hospitalized at Richmond, Virginia, August 27, 1864, with a gunshot wound at the left leg. Place and date wounded not reported. Reported absent wounded or absent sick through February, 1865.
