Sasser, James A., Private
Company C, 27th Regiment N.C. Troops
Resided in Lenoir County where he enlisted at age 20, April 17, 1861. Deserted 
on December 8, 1864. Went over to the enemy on or about March 16, 1865. 
Confined at Washington, DC, until released on or about March 24, 1865, after 
taking the Oath of Allegiance.
