Suggs, Joshua F., Private
Company C, 27th Regiment N.C. Troops
Resided in Lenoir County and was by occupation a farmer prior to enlisting in 
Lenoir County at age 26, May 6, 1862, for the war. Present or accounted for 
until wounded in shoulder at Sharpsburg, Maryland, September 17, 1862. 
Returned to duty on an unspecified date. Captured at Bristoe Station, 
Virginia, October 14, 1863. Confined at Old Capitol Prison, Washington, D.C., 
until transferred to Point Lookout, Maryland, October 27, 1863. Paroled at 
Point Lookout and transferred to City Point, Virginia, where he was received 
March 20, 1864, for exchange. Returned to duty on an unspecified date. Present 
or accounted for through February, 1865.
