Whitfield, George F.
Company C, 27th Regiment N.C. Troops
Resided in Lenoir County where he enlisted at age 31. Elected Captain on April 
17, 1861. Present or accounted for until appointed Major on November 1, 1862, 
and transferred to the Field and Staff of this regiment. Later served as 
Colonel of this regiment.
