Lenoir County, NC – Patience Deaver for Wages Due, 1861 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ State of North Carolina Lenoir County I, Patience Deaver wife of Windal Deaver do hereby affourth Jon C Wooten my lawful agents to collect and recover any and all money coming to or due me under a resolution of the Second Extra Session of the Legislature of North Carolina for 1861 for wages due my husband as a volunteer in Captain Suttons Company, Lenoir Braves" who was captured by the Federals at 'Cape Haterras, the 29 day of August AD 1861. Any receipts signed or given by him for the same shall be as binding on me as if I were present and signed the same in person. In witness where of I herewith set my hand and seal, This Oct 15, 1861.
