D. SPENCE to Tonino SPENCE 14 Jan 1916 State of North Carolina Lenoir County This Deed made this 14th day of January 1916 by H. D. SPENCE of Lenoir County and State of North Carolina of the first part to Tonino SPENCE of Lenoir County and State of North Carolina of the second part, Witnesseth: That said H. D. SPENCE in consideration of Thirty Seven Hundred Fifty & no/100 ($3750.00) Dollars to him paid by Tonino SPENCE the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged has bargained and sold by these presents do so bargain, sell and convey to said Tonino SPENCE and his heirs and assigns, a certain tract or parcel of land in Kinston township, Lenoir County, State of North Carolina adding the lands of Annie G. ELLINGTON, and others, bounded as follows, viz: Beginning at a point in the center of Tower Hill Road 125 feet East along said Road of one Matt SLAUGHTERS corner, there being also an Iron state on the North side of the Road from which the beginning point in the center of the Road Bears S 6 degrees 15’ W; it runs N 6 degrees 15’ E, 1038 feet to the center of a ditch there being an iron stake in line on South bank of said ditch thence it runs with said ditch S 86 degrees 15’ E, 685 feet to another ditch, thence with the last named ditch S 7 degrees-00’ W 1126 feet to the center of the Tower Hill Road thence with said Road N 79 degrees-00’ W 677 feet to the beginning containing 16.85 acres. To have and to hold the aforesaid tract or parcel of land appurtenances thereto belonging to the said Tonino SPENCE his heirs and assigns to their only use and behoof forever. And the said H. D. SPENCE covenant to and with the said Tonino SPENCE his heirs and assigns that he is seized of said premises in fee, and has a right to convey the same in fee simple, that same are free from all encumbrances, and that the will warrant and defend the said title to the same against the claims of all persons whomsoever. In testimony whereof, the said H.D. SPENCE has hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written. H. D. SPENCE North Carolina Lenoir County The Execution of the forgoing instrument was this day acknowledged before me by H.D. SPENCE, the grantor for the purpose therein expressed.
