CANADY to John L. NELSON of Lenoir Co., NC -Elizabeth CLARK lands 31 December 1872 This Indenture made not he thirty first day of December One Thousand Eight Hundred and Seventy two between James L. CANADY of the County of Lenoir and State of North Carolina on the one part and John L. NELSON of the same County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth: That the said James L. CANADY for and in consideration of the sum of Six Hundred Dollars to him in hand paid by the said John L. NELSON at the time of executing these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted, bargained, sold and confirmed and by these presents do sell and convey unto the said John L. NELSON his heirs and assigns, all of his interest in the tract of land known as the Elizabeth CLARK tract of land and the same where the said John L. NELSON now resides. Containing one Hundred acres be the same more or less and lying in the County of Lenoir and State of North Carolina and adjoining the lands of R. W. KING, Sallie LEE and others. To have and to Hold unto him the said John L. NELSON in fee simple devising the lives? of C. H. & Charles CLARK. In testimony whereof the said James L. CANADY doth hereunto set his hand and seal, the date and year first above written. Signed, sealed and delivered in the presence of R. G. HARRIS Signed James L. CANADY (SEAL) Lenoir County: In the Probate Court The Execution of the within and forgoing Deed from James L. CANADY to John L. NELSON, was the 2nd day of January, 1873, acknowledged before the undersigned Probate Judge of said County, by the said James L. CANADY. Therefore let the said Deed with this certificate, be registered. Witness, my hand and official seal. WM. W. N.
