W. HARPER to E. F. ALBRITTON of Lenoir County, NC 21 March 1874 This Indenture made March the 21st A. D. 1874 by J. W. HARPER of the first part and E. F. ALBRITTON of the second part witnessth That whereas the said JW. W. HARPER & the said E. F. ALBRITTON are the owners in common of the lands lying on both sides of Stonington Creek in Lenoir County known as the “WHITFIELD land” the said J. W. HARPER owning one third and the said E. F. ALBRITTON owning two thirds thereof and whereas the said parties have agreed on a partition of the same. Now therefore the indenture witnesseth that in consideration of the promises and for the further consideration of the sum of one dollar the said J. W. HARPER hath give granted remised released unto the said E. F. ALBRITTON & his heirs all his right title and interest in and to the following real estate lying in the North side of Neuse River & adjoining the lands of E. F. ALBRITTION & others & bounded as follows: to wit-one tract beginning at the fork of the road near the dwelling of E. F. ALBRITTION and running with the road S 88 1/2 E to Neuse River then down the river to a Cypress, then N 88 1/2 W 450 poles to a Stake in the public road near the Bridge near Stonington Creek then with the road Southwardly to the beginning containing four hundred & eighty seven & one half acres, also one other tract beginning at a Horne Beam in Stonington Creek, the up the said Creek to the beginning containing four hundred and ninety five acres more or less also one other tract to wit the “CLARK Place” including all the lands on the North Side of Stonington Creek containing about five? hundred and fifteen acres mentioned in the deed to J. W. HARTSFIELD & E. F. ALBRIITTON from J. W. EDWARDS. To have & to hold to him the said E. F. ALBRITTON & his heirs in fee simple, In testimony whereof the said J. W. HARPER hath hereunto set his hand & seal on the year & day first above written. J. W.
