KING of Lenoir Co. to John L. NELSON of Lenoir Co., NC 4 Feb. 1875 State of North Carolina Lenoir County This Deed made 4th day of Feby., 1875, by Richard W. KING of Lenoir County & State of North Carolina to John L. NELSON of Lenoir County and State of North Carolina, Witnesseth: That said Richard W. KING in consideration of Four Thousand Dollars to him paid (or secured to be paid) by John L. NELSON the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, has bargained and sold and by these presents do brain, sell and convey to said John L. NELSON and his heirs a tract of land lying and being in the County of Lenoir & State of North Carolina, in Contentnea Neck Township, and between he road leading from BECTON’S old field to Kinston and Neuse River, adjoining the lands of Burwell M. CANADY and the said John L. NELSON former CLARK land & others, being the lands willed by the late John P. DUNN to his son Joseph J. DUNN, and which was sold by order of the Court of Equity of Lenoir County and conveyed by Henry R. STROUD, Clerk & Masters? in Equity to Richard F. BRIGHT the purchaser, and conveyed by the said Richard F. BRIGHT to the said Richard W. KING by deed dated 17th March A.D. 1863. Containing One hundred & Sixty six acres (166) more or less, for a more full description of said land, reference id hereby had to a deed from S. B. CARAWAY to John P. DUNN for two tracts of land dated 20th of Oct. A. D. 1853 so far as the courses in said deed applies to the tract or parcel of land. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land and all privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging to the said John L. NELSON and his heirs and assigns, to him and their only use and behoof. And the said Richard W. KING covenant that he is seized of said premises in fee and has right to convey the same in fee simple, that the same are free from all encumbrances and that he will warrant and defend the said title to the same against the claims of all persons whatsoever.
