Married Stephen Herring, son of Oliver Herring & Jean Cox Herring. He died during the war. They had one daughter, Ella Williams Herring, who married Prof. John Duckett of South Carolina. In 1860 census Ann Herring & daughter Ellen (3) live in Woodington. Ann died during the Civil War when Foster's troops stormed her home. Being sickly, she was forced outside into the cold and died during the night (December 4, 1862). See article written by John E.
