Daughter of Virginia Taylor and Nathan Gilbert of Jones County, she was born 
January 7, 1895. She married Robert T. Fordham on Aug. 13, 1916 at the home of 
E. Nobles. They had one stillborn son and three daughters: Hazel Fordham 
Marcum, Charlotte Fordham Seymour, and Eloise Fordham White. She died on 
November 24, 1981. 
 
Obit reads:
Beulah Fordham
Mrs. Beulah Gilbert Fordham, 86, died Thursday at Lenoir Memorial Hospital. 
She was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church. Funeral Services will 
be held at 11am Friday from the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Mary 
VanCannon and the Rev. Emmett C. McCall will officiate. Burial will follow in 
the Williams Family Cemetery near Woodington. Survivors include three 
daughters, Mrs. Hazel F. Marcom, Mrs. Charlotte F. Seymour and Mrs. Eloise F. 
White all of Kinston; a sister, Mrs. Zora Gilbert Koonce of Trenton; five 
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on 
Thursday from 7 to 9 pm at the funeral home. The family will be at the home of 
Mr. & Mrs. Clayton White at 106 OK Street.
