Jesse Oliver Sutton
Son of J. A. and Rosa Sutton, Jesse was born July 18, 1859. He married Julia 
Ann Taylor and they had eleven children: Claudius Woodey,Alice Eugenia, Oliver 
Clyde, Darrell Monroe, Willie Green, Minnie G., John T., Roy B., Caroline 
Branch, Julia Ann, and Jesse Ballard.  Jesse contracted cancer of the mouth 
and throat and died.
 
obit reads:  March 13, 1897
DIED. Mr. Jesse O. Sutton, who resided in Neuse Township, about three miles 
from Kinston, died last Saturday morning, aged 44 years, of cancer in his 
mouth and throat. His remains were interred next day at the Williams burying 
ground, in Woodington Township, Rev .C. W. Howard conducting the burials 
service. He left a wife and several children to mourn their loss.
