He married Minnie Wilkins and they had five children: Sallie Caroline, William James, Horace David, Susie Mae, and Benjamin Oliver Taylor. He died on October 11, 1924. obit reads: Death and Funeral of Mr. Taylor Oct 11, 1924 The funeral of William E. Taylor, widely known Lenoir County resident, was held at a private cemetery in the Woodington section Sunday. He died here late Saturday, having been brought to Kinston for treatment. Mr. Taylor ws a resident of the Neuse community near here. He was extensely related. Three children surviving are Mrs. Susie Rouse, Benjamin Taylor and Mrs. Sallie Sutton, all of the city or county.
