Edward James was born October 19, 1915 to Benjamin Franklin Williams and Mary 
Elizabeth Oglesby Williams. He married Vida Mae White on January 25, 1956 and 
they had 8 children: James Edward, Jr.; Susan Elizabeth; John Robert; Edna 
Frances; Hazel Marie; twins Kerry Don and Kara Yvonne; and Mary Katherine. He 
died on February 12, 1979.

EDWARD JAMES WILLIAMS
Edward James Williams, 63, of Kinston Rt. 5 died Friday at his home. He was a 
retired farmer.
Services will be held at 2pm Wednesday from the Edwards Funeral Home with the 
Reverend Gene Purcell officiating. Burial will follow in the Williams Family 
Cemetery near Woodington. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Vida Mae Williams 
of the home; five daughters, Mrs. Roger Smith of Trenton Rt 2; Mrs. David Watt 
of Elpasso, Texas; Mrs. Leslie Moore of Kinston Rt. 4; Mrs. David Deans of 
Kinston Rt. 5, and Mrs. Susan Brooks of Chicago, Il; two sons, John R. 
Williams of Miami, FL and Don Williams of Kinston Rt 5; a brother, Milton 
Roscoe Williams of Kinston Rt. 5; a sister, Mrs. Marie Ball of Cranston, RI; 
and four grandchildren. The family will receive friends and family at Edwards 
Funeral Home from 7 to 9 on Tuesday.
