Vida was born on January 27, 1914 to Christopher Guy & Susan Poole White. She 
married Edward Williams on January 25, 1956 and they had 8 children: James 
Edward, Jr.; Susan Elizabeth; John Robert; Edna Frances; Hazel Marie; twins 
Kerry Don and Kara Yvonne; and Mary Katherine. She died on June 1, 1991.

Vida W. Williams
Vida W. Williams, 77, of Kinston Rt. 5, died Saturday at Lenoir Memorial 
Hospital. She was a member of Lanie's Chapel Church and a homemaker. Services 
will be held at 4pm Monday from the Edwards Funeral Chapel with the Rev. 
Morgan Daughety and the Rev. Gene Purcell officiating. Burial will follow in 
the Williams Family Cemetery near Woodington. Survivors include two sons, John 
Robert of Hollywood, Fl and Kerry Don Williams of Kinston; five daughters, 
Susan Elizabeth Bayliss of New Bern, Edna Frances Smith of Trenton, Hazel 
Marie Watt of Guanaco, Puerto Rico; Kara Yvonne Moore and Mary Katherine 
Evans, both of Kinston; a brother, Leslie Ray White of Kinston, a sister, 
Elizabeth Nichols of Anderson, SC; six grandchildren and two great-
grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-8pm 
Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to Lanie's Chapel Church, Rt. 3, 
Kinston NC.
