Ann Nancy Ballard Humphreys Williams
 
Born abt 1798 to Lot Ballard, Sr. & Matilda Cox Ballard, Ann Nancy Ballard 
first married Lott Humphreys and had one child with him, Olive Branch 
Humphreys who married Dr. William Andrew Jackson Pollock of Kinston, NC. There 
were problems within the marriage and they divorced. She then married Col. 
John Williams of the Woodington section of Lenoir County and they had six 
chidren: Caroline, John, Ann, Edwood, Lott and James. It was his third 
marriage.
 
LOTT BALLARD LETTER TO SISTER HENRIETTA DEC 9, 1851: "...a letter from Mr. 
Benjamin Williams informing me that our sister Nancy was left in rather a 
deplorable condiiton almost destitute of any assistance from her husband's 
estate...I however adivsed her to have her dissent from the Will. I think it 
is better for the children. I was truly sorry to hear of his death...and I too 
grieve over the memory of Col. John Williams as one of the dearest and best 
beloved of my earthly friends...."
