WILL OF BENJAMIN FRANKLIN PARROTT

Original in the possession of Isabelle Moseley Fletcher Perry. Although this 
Will was written in 1871, Benjamin did not die until 1901 and had additional 
children than mentioned in the Will.

I, B. F. Parrott of the County of Lenoir and State of North Carolina being of 
sound mind and memory but considering the uncertainty of my earthly existence 
do make and declare this my last will and Testament in manner and form 
following that is to say
First – That my executrix (hereinafter named) shall provide for my body a 
decent burial suitable to the wishes of my family and friends

Item. I hereby appoint Nancy Sutton guardian of the person and estate of my 
children, L. L. Parrott, Nannie M. Parrott, Mary W. Parrott.(marked through), 
James F. Parrott, Emma J. Parrott and any child or children I may have born 
after the date hereof to be their guardian as aforesaid until they each 
respectively arrive at the age of Twenty one years.

And lastly I hereby appoint Nancy Sutton my lawful executrix to all intents 
and purposes to execute this my last will and Testament hereby revoking and 
declaring utterly void all other wills and Testaments by me heretofore made.

In witness whereof I the said B. F. Parrott do hereunto set my hand and seal 
this the June AD 1871.

Signed sealed published and declared by the said B. F. Parrott to be his last 
will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his 
presence to subscribe our names as Witnesses thereto

The name of Mary W. Parrott in the 15th line marked off before being signed.
