He was the son of Weyrich and Barbara Seigfried Rudisill. When just a boy, an arrow shot by a playmate, struck out one of his eyes.Sometime around 1750, Michael Rudisill came to Lincoln County N.C. from Pa. and settled on Leeper's Creek, about 4 miles from Iron Station. The country was then a wilderness occupied by Indian natives, with whom he and his family lived in peace. So much so, that he left his family to make a visit to Pa. He brought back wheat seed which was propagated for seeding and after a hundred years his wheat seed is still producing. He acquired a large amount of land on both sides of Leeper's Creek - portions of which, were later acquired by son-in-law Jacob Link. Michael Rudisill and family were some of the early pioneers that spent their lives in service to God and in the opening and building of Lincoln County,N.C.
