All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Marilyn Szum m.szum2006@sbcglobal.net May 23, 2008, 8:22 pm Lincoln County NC Written: October 22, 1825 This Indenture made the 22nd day of October AD 1823 Between John Glen of the County of Lincoln in the State of North Carolina and Elisha Cox of the County of Lincoln and the State of North Carolina for and in consideration of the sum of Five Hundred Dollars to him in hand paid by the said Cox at and before the ensealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Hath given granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth give grant bargain and sell and convey unto the said Elisha Cox his heirs and assigns forever all the tract or parcel of land situated lying and being in the County of Lincoln on the Waters of Duckarts Creek Joing his own and said Cox’s land along the East side of the said Glenn’s land Beginning at a Hickory on the North bank of the said Creek Runs South 23 East 280 poles to a White Oak the beginning corner of Glenns tract then South 60 West 65 Poles to a Black Oak then North 35 West 40 poles to a pine at the corner of a fence thence along said fence North 11 West 96th poles to a small post oak in or near the Lains then down the lain North 77 East 19 Poles to a Black oak then North 12 West 55 poles to a White Oak on the side of a Steep Hill near the creek thence to the creek and with the meanders of said creek to the Beginning Containing by Estimation 46 acres more or less And all woods ways waters and appurtenances and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents issues and profits thereof and all the Estate right Title and demand whatsoever of the said John Glenn of in and to the land and premises hereby granted To Have and To Hold the aforesaid land and premises with the appurtenances unto said Elisha Cox his heirs and assigns forever And the said Glenn for him and his heirs and all other persons the said premises to the said Elisha Cox his heirs shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents in Witness whereof the said John Glenn hath herunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above written Sealed and delivered John Glenn Seal In presence of North Carolina FJ Holland of Lincoln County Oct Session 1824 The Within Andrew B Cox deed was proved in open court by Isaac Holland and ordered to be registered.
