SAMUEL CALDWELL. He was born in 1759, and served with credit to himself in the War of the Revolution. He was attached for some time to Washington's corps of cavalry, and was in the Battle of Cowpens, and took part in other conflicts under that great and glorious man. The deceased was a good citizen and might well have inscribed on his tombstone -- here lies an honest man, a Soldier of the Revolution and an inflexible republican of the School of Washington.
