Feb. 6, 1846        Charlotte Journal
  -- We understand that a little son of the late MICHAEL HOKE, ESQ., of 
Lincolnton, some 10 or 12 years of age, was shot on Saturday evening last, and 
died instantly.
  Himself and another boy, about the same age, were pointing their guns at 
each other in sport, when accidently the gun of the young FULENWIDER, which is 
the name of the other boy, was discharged. -- This accident is the more 
deplorable owing to the fact that MRS. HOKE has been in a very critical state 
of health since the death of her husband. -- Rutherfordton Republican.
