Mon. July 28, 1806, Raleigh Minerva
   DIED, in Lincoln County, on the 30th of June, JOHN MOORE, SR., in the 87th 
year of his age. He has been a resident of the same neighborhood 53 years. 
Among the patriots of ’76, he manifest his zeal in the cause of American 
Independence. – He left behind a numerous progeny, four sons and four 
daughters, 72 grandchildren alive, and 30 great-grandchildren. He had for 
several years detached himself from worldly cares, and counted his time and 
attention to the duties of religion.
