Williams Formerly of Lincolnton, Dies In Fayetteville Hospital - Funeral And Burial At Lincolnton Last Saturday Mrs. Katherine Gertrude Williams, wife of D.C. Williams, Superintendent of Rock Fish Mills No. 2 and 4 and Cumberland Mills, of Hope Mills, died last Friday morning at the Highsmith hospital in Fayetteville following an operation the day before, this being a second operation within two weeks. She was 45 years of age last August. She was a native of South Carolina, being a daughter of H.C. Settlemyer and Annie Settlemyer. She lived in Lincolnton a number of years during the time that Mr. Williams was in the mill business here. The family also formerly lived at Gastonia and McCall(sic), S.C. She endeared herself to a large number of Lincolnton friends during her residence here, who sympathize with the members of her family in their loss. She is survived by her husband, D.C. Williams, and the following sons and daughters, Claude Williams, Miss Muriel Williams, Mrs. May Cooke(sic), Miss Isabelle Williams, D.C. Williams, Jr., Miss Ruth Williams, and Harry Williams. Also surviving is her mother, Mrs Annie Settlemyer of Rock Hill, S.C., and three sister, Mrs George Yarborough, Rock Hill, S.C.; Mrs. Elliott, Columbia, S.C.; Mrs. Wade Evans, Macon, Ga.; four brothers, A.F. Settlemyer, Kanapolis; W.E. Settlemyer, H.C. Settlemyer, L.E. Settlemyer, Rock Hill, S.C. Funeral At Lincolnton Saturday The funeral and burial services were conducted from Lincolnton Baptist church of which she was for years a devoted member, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock by the pastor, Rev. Eph Whisenhunt. Burial followed at Hollybrook cemetery. A large number of Lincolnton relatives and friends met the funeral party at the Baptist church and attended the funeral anad burial service. A bower of pretty flowers tokens of love and esteem, were spread upon the grave. The pall bearers were M.H. Hoyle, J.O. Allen, J.L. Putnam, L.V. Padgett, J. Thos. McLean, J.T. Perkins. The flower bearers were Misses Katherine Harrill, Annie Willis, Gladys Rudisill, Mrs. Robert Smith and Mrs. A.B.
