He was the son of the late Austin and Prue Cornwell Weaver and a retired supervisor of the tap and die department at Vermont American, where he worked for 29 years. Survivors include his wife, Hazel M. Weaver of the home; one son, Barry Weaver of Spruce Pine; one sister, Marcella Rudisill of Lincolnton; and three grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church. Drs. J. Dixon Free and Robert Cantwell officiated. Burial followed with Masonic Rites at Hollybrook Cemetery. The family received friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Friday at Warlick Funeral Home.
