State of North Carolina.  Lincoln County.}

Know all Men by these Presents, THAT WE, Danl. M. Hartzoge and Henry Hufs of
the State aforesaid, are held and firmly bound unto the State of North
Carolina, in the just and full sum of Five Hundred Pounds, current money of
said State; to which payment, well and truly to be made and done, we bind
ourselves, our Heirs, Executors & Administrators.  Sealed with our seals,
and dated this 16th day of August Anno Domini 1865

     The Condition of the above Obligation is Such, THAT WHEREAS, the above
bounden Danl. M. Hartzoge hath made application for A LICENSE FOR A
MARRIAGE, to be celebrated between him and Martha E. Hallman of the County
aforesaid:  Now, in case it shall appear, hereafter, that there is no lawful
cause to obstruct the said Marriage, then the above Obligation to be
void--Otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.

Denomination; Or to any Justice of the Peace of said County:

You, or any of you, are hereby Licensed and authorised to celebrate and
solemnize the Rites of Matrimony between Martha E. Hallman AND Danl M.
Hartzoge AND JOIN THEM TOGETHER AS MAN AND WIFE.

Witnefs, A.S. Haynes Clerk of our said Court, at Office, the 16th day of
August 1865, and in the [blank] year of our independence.

State of North Carolina, Lincoln County.}  This Certifies, That Martha E.
Hallman and Danl M. Hartscoe were, by me, united in the bonds of matrimony,
on the 17th day of August A.D. 1865 conformably to the Ordinance of God and
the Laws of the State.
