Located in Lincoln County Wills, 1769-1926, call number C.R.060.801.1 Last Will and Testament of Daniel Asbury 1825 In the Name of God Amen I Daniel Asbury of Lincoln County of state of North Carolina do make my Last will and testament (that is to say after all my just debts are paid. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Nancy L Asbury my house and plantation on which I now live together one Black man named Stephen and also two horses with working and also two cows to horses and injoy as her own (together with the house property) so lons as her normal life or widow hood. Also it is my desire after my death that all the property not included in the above gift to my wife should be sold at public sail and the mones arising therefrome put to in trust until [?] my youngest child comes to gae (and that no [illegible] be sold or given away on the day of sail. I give and bequeath to my son Francis Asbury one Hundred & fifty dollars which I paid for him to John Earven in Charlotte. I give and bequeath to my son James T Asbury my watch and one hundred Dollars to be paid him out of the [wandue] mony. I give and bequeath to my son Henry Asbury two Hundred and fifty dollars which I paid for a tract of Land he bought of John Duncan. I give and bequeath to my son Wesley Asbury one Hundred Dollars to be paid him out of the [wandue] mony also on horse to be worth fifty Dollars when he comes to age also a bed. After my Death and my wifes Death I give and bequeath to my three youngest sons (that to say) Hyram Asbury William Asbury and J. Fletcher Asbury two Hundred and forty acres of Land the plantation on on which I now live be the same more or less. Also I give to the above three youngest sons one other tract of Land laying on Mountain joining William Gibbs and others containing one Hundred and thirteen acres more or less which Land to be eaquelly Divided between my three youngest sons to have and to hold for ever. And after the Death of myself and wife I give and bequeath to my three Daughters (that is to say) Marthee J Abernathy Susannah S Wilkerson and Lethey Cornelaus all all the house hold property the remaining in the the house (Excepting Books, and my wife Riding saddle she will Dispose of her saddle as she think proper) to be divided Eaqually among my three Daughters such as beds and furniture [?] table clock chears chests table and chedeten [?] furniture. I give and bequeath all my Books to be eaqually Divided among my seven sons Frances James T Henry Wesley Hyrom William J Fletcher. This my last will if there be any more porperty not Disposed of let be divided eaqually among all sons and Daughters. And in order this my last will may be faithfully proformed I appoint my son Henry and my good friend Nathaniel Edward my Executors.
