All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Greg Little glittle1@hotmail.com July 17, 2009, 1:53 pm Source: Nc Archives Written: February 21, 1823 In the Name of God amen this twenty first day of February In the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty three I Cornelius Clark of Lincoln County and the State of North Carolina being Sick in body but in perfect mind and memory thanks be to god for his mercys but Calling to mind the mortality of the body and knowing that it is appointed to all amen once to Die first I recommend my Soul to almighty god that gave it me and my body to the dust to be buried after a decent Christian manner not doubting but at the great resurrection I Shall receive the Same be the mighty power of God and as Touching my worldly Substances that it has pleased god to bestow on me in this Life first I Leave and bequeath in the following manner and form first I Leave and bequeath to my well beloved wife Jane Clark the whole of my Land to raise my Children and all my Horse beasts Likewise all my Cattle Sheep and Hogs farming Tools waggon and Giers household and kitchen furniture all the rest of my property of Every Description for her to hold During her Life or widowhood Excepting such property as Shall hereafter be named and for her to Divied out amongs my Children as she thinks most proper Secondly I Leave and bequeath to my Eldest Daughter Nancy Martin one Dollar thirdly I leave and bequeath to my Second Daughter Mary Clark one bed bedstead and furniture that She Claims fourthly I Leave and bequeath to my third Daughter Lettis Clark one bed bedstead and furniture She Claims fourthly I leave and bequeath to my fourth Daughter Elizabeth Clark one bed bedstead and furniture fifthly I Leave and bequeath to my fifth Daughter Ann Clark one bed bedstead and furniture Sixthly I Leave and bequeath to my Sixth Daughter Sally Clark one bed bedstead and furniture also I Leave to my Son James Clark all of the Land I now own after his mother’s Death and if he Dies without an heir I allow It to be Sold and Equally divided between my Six Daughters and I also Leave him one bed bedstead and furniture I also allow my wife to give my five Daughters that Is now Single Living with us Each of them a Cow apeace when they Leave I appoint William Little to be my whole and Sole Executor and none other Revoking all other Executors and former wills and testaments and this to be my Last will and testament Sighned Sealed and Delivered In presence of us Allen Howard Cornelius Clark (SEAL) James Cashion William Little Exs sworn Additional Comments: The transcriber has made every effort create a true duplicate the original.
