This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Philip Sheppard sheppard@hargray.com ==================================================================== Will of Elizabeth Robinson Moore: January Sessions 1838 In the name of God Amen I Elizabeth Moore of Lincoln County North Carolina Being in a Sour State of Health but of Sound Mind and Memory blessed be God for the same And Knowing that there is a time for all persons to die, and therefore Do this Second day of December 1838 make and publish this my last Will and Testament In manner following (Towit) First I recommend my soul into the Hands of Almighty God who gave it and my body to be decently buried and with respect to the Worldly Estate in my possession I dispose of as follows First I will and bequeath unto Margaret Moore Widow of my beloved son James Moore One good bed and furniture, the leaftable and one small walnut table out to her son John Moore the Clock also the Old Desk 2dly I bequeath unto my beloved daughter fifty dollars 3dly I give and bequeath unto my beloved daughter Elizabeth Rankin my negro girl Jane to hir and hir heirs 4th I give and bequeaty unto my beloved son Robinson Moore three hunderd Dollars 5th I give and bequeath unto my beloved son Alexander Moore One Dollar 6th I give and bequeath unto my beloved grandchildren being the Children of my late beloved son James Moore To Wit Elizabeth Robinson, John Cathy Moore, Rosanna Ann Moore, Mary Reinhardt Moore, and Margaret F. Moore my negro woman Cate & hir increasement and as also my negro boy Peter both to remain with their Mothers family for the support of said five children, to be equally divided when the aforesaid John C. Moore becomes of age share and share alike. 7th It is my will that my negro woman Sytha and her Child Margaret together with all the Remainder of my property not particularly bequeathed to be sold by my Executor and that all Just debts be paid and the remainder to be disposed of as followith first to my Beloved son Alexander Moore Two Hundred Dollars to make him whole for a debt And I bequeath to the Widow Jane Moore fifty dollars and I also bequeath to the Widow Ann Moore fifty Dollars and the remainder if any to be equally divided among all my children To Wit. Ann Reinhardt, Elizabeth Rankin, The Widow Jane Moore, Robinson Moore, Alexander Moore, Michael Reidhardt, Margaret Moore Widow of James Moore and Ann Moore Widow of William Moore and I hereby nominate and appoint my friend Andrew Hoyle Executor of this my last Will and Testament.
