I, Wm R Moore of Lincoln County North Carolina being in a low state of health, But of good and perfect mind and memory Blessed be God for the same and knowing that all must die and therefore do this 24th day of August 1837 make and publish this my last Will and Testament In the manner following And first I recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it and my body to be Buried at the descretion of my beloved family. And with respect to my worldly Estate I dispose of as follows to wit. First I give and bequeath all my estate both real and personal unto my beloved wife, Ann Moore during hir life or widowhood after paying all my Just debts. That is for the support of herself and all my family and Schooling my Children and it is my wish that my two oldest sons Alexander and Robert Wilson be bound out to a trade at a proper Age by my Executors and the other three Children be kept together as much as may be convinient except when necsary to keep them at school. Secondly I give and bequeath unto my beloved stepson Wm Todd by bay horse Ned and Also my saddle should need them and iff not, he is to have the Value of both in money And it is my Wish that my two Negroes Jim and Lee which are at present hired to Mr. Fulenwider should still be hired our by Executors to the best advantage, and the money if not all needed by my family to be put out on Interest - and it is my will and desire if my beloved wife Ann Should marry or die that my Executors together with two respectable freeholders should divide such my Estate between my five Children eaqually share and share alike and sell the balance of my property and collect my outstanding debts, and also divide the proceeds of the sale and debts between my said five Children equally share and share alike. and should one or more of my Children marry during the life of my said wife that she should give them such part of their share of my Estate as she may think proper and I do hereby Constitute and appoint my beloved brother James Moore and my worthy friend Eli Hoyl executors of this my last Will and Testament.
