LINCOLN COUNTY, NC - WILLS - William Ramsey, 1804 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Admitted July Session 1828 In the name of God Amen, the (sic) in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and four, I William Ramsey of the State of North Carolina and County of Lincoln, farmer, being of sound and disposing mind and memory, thanks be given unto God therefor, Calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once for to die do make and constitute and ordain this my last Will and testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God that give it and for my body I recommend it to the earth to be buried in a christian like and decent manner at the discretion of executors hereafter Named nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the might power of God, and as touching such worldly estates wherewith it has pleased God to bless me with in this life, I give and devise and dispose of the same in following manner and form viz. first of all it is my will and I do order that all my just debts and funeral charges be paid and satisfyed (.) Item I do bequeath and leave unto my son Robert Ramsey and unto my son Solomon Ramsey all the tract or parcel of land and plantation I now live on to be equally divided between them their heirs or assigns after paying the the (sic) debts and small legacys here mentioned to their other brothers and sisters(.) Item I leave and bequeath to my son David Ramsey five shillings sterling (.) Item I leave and bequeath to my Daughter Janey Glen the sum of five shillings and a feather bed which her mother in her lifetime directed her to get(.) Item I leave and bequeath to my son Samuel Ramsey twenty five pounds to be paid in trade at hard money rates(.) Item it is further my will and I will and bequeath to my son Robert Ramsey one of my feather beds and the bed clothing and furnitures thereunto belonging which bed and furniture is to be equal in value to any two of my other beds and furniture(.) It is further my will and I do bequeath to my son Soloman Ramsey all and every one of my feather beds clothing and furniture therunto beloning exclusive of the beds above mentioned(.) Item I likewise institute make and ordain my well beloved sons Samuel Ramsey and Solomon Ramsey my only and sole Executors of this my last will and testament and I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannull all and every other former testaments willss legacies and Executors by me in any ways before this named willed and bequeathed(.) ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament(.)
