LINCOLN COUNTY, NC - WILLS - Robert Ramsey, 6 Jan 1823 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- In the Name of God Amen the Sixth Day of January in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and twenty three I Robert Ramsey of the State of North Carolina and County of Lincoln Being of sound and disposing mind and memory Thanks be unto God therefore calling to mind the Mortality of my body and knowing that it appointed for all men to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul unto the hands of God who gave it and for my body, I Recommend to the earth to be buried in a christianlike and decent manner at the discreton of my executors hereafter named nothing doubting but at the General resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as to the worldy estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life I give devise and dispose of the same in a in the following manner and form sic In Primis, it is my Will and I do order that in the first place that all my just debts and funeral charges be paid and satisfied Item I give and bequeath unto Margaret my beloved wife all the household furniture and movable properties during her lifetime and to be at her disposal at her death and further more bequeath unto Margaret my beloved wife that she shall have from my son Robert a good decent and reasonable living during her life time it is my will that she shall be entrusted and authorized to occupy my mansion house and other out houses as to her may appear necessary for her accomodation or any part thereof during her life Item I give and bequeath to my son Robert G Ramsey the plantation I now live in and furthermore I give and bequeath unto my Robert G. Ramsey half of my hundred and Ninety acre tract of land to be taken off the North side containing All the meadow ground on the big branch Item I give and beqeath to my two grandchildren Robert Ramsey Summey and William Summey when they come to the age of twenty one my fifty acre tract lying on the East side of the big branch and thee half of my hundred and nintey Acre of tract to be taken off the South side and each piece to be equally divided between them Item I give and bequeath to my son Robert G. Ramsey the land Above mentioned for my two grand children (?) untill they come of to the age of twenty one Item I ive and bequeath to my son in law George Summey the sum of five shillings sterling Item I likewise constitute and ordain my well beloved son Robert G Ramsey my only sole executor of this my last will and testament and I do hereby uterly disalow Revoke and disannull all and every other former testaments wills and lacies and executors by me in any way before this claimed willed bequeatherd testifying and conveying this and no ther to be my last will and testament.
