Wills 1838-1856 Vol 2 July Session 1840 In the Name of God Amen, I JAMES RAMSEY, Sen. of the county of Lincoln & State of North Carolina -being of perfect mind and memory but calling to mind the mortallity ofthe flesh, that it is appointed for all men Onst to die, doth make Ordain, this my last will & testamnent in manner following to First, 1st I recommend my body to the Earth to be buried in a Christian like manner & my sole to God who gave it to me. 2dly I gave and bequeath unto my wife RUTH RAMSEY, the following items to wit: 1st I give unto her five tracts of Land One of two hundred acres, and One of One Hundred acres and One of Fifty Acres, One tract containing by Estimation one hundred thirty five poles, one tract containing by Estimation two acres. The above mention tracts of Lands all by laying on the waters of Carnpereck, the two hundred acres and the one hundred acre tracts above mentioned were deeded to JAMES RAMSEY by Michael Shell the fifty acres above Deeded to said J. Ramsey, claims under a grant from the state bearing date january the 5th 1805 joining his two hundred acre trat on the S side and the two acre tract said Ramsey, James under a deed from Henry Summerow Sr. dated the 7th of January 1806. Joing his Michael Shell tract on their side of the other tract of one hundred and thirty five poles, he James under a deed from John Summerrow dated the 6th of March 1820 lying on the N Side of the two first mentioned tracts the Michael Shell land, and I give continued unto my wife RUTH RAMSEY one waggon one horse all my cattle, all my sheep, all my hogs, and all my farming utenshills, and all my household and kitchen furniture, beding, and clouthing of all description all,the above articles I give unto my wife RUTH RAMSEY during her Natural Life, and at her decease all the before mentioned Tracts of Land, to decend to my Son SOL RAMSEY I also give unto each of my Lawful heirs the sum of five shillings to be made out ofmy stock, Witness my hand and seal August the 9th, 1837 in the presence of us, HIS JESSE ROBINSON} Jurat JAMES X RAMSEY JAMES LYNN } MARK SOLOMAN RAMSEY appointed Admr with the Will annexed File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/nc/lincoln/wills/ramsey2533gwl.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/ncfiles/ File size: 3.0 Kb
