Charles Williams 1803 Last Will and Testament of Charles Williams In the Name of God Amen I Charles Williams of the County of Lincoln and State of North Carolin being Weak in Body but of perfect and Sound Memory and understanding thanks be to Almighty God for the Same and Calling to mind the Mortality of my body knowing it is appointed for all men Once to Die do make Constitute and Appoint this to be my Last Will and Testament that is to say principally and first of all I Recommend my Soul to Almighty God who gave it and as for my body I Recommend to the Earth to be buried in a decent Christian like Manner the Expences to be at the discretion of my Extor and as touching my worly Estate desire to disposed of in Manner and form following. First I desire my Debts Should be paid. 2nd I give and bequeath to my son Richard Williams on Negro Man Named Arthur now in his possession. 3rd I give and bequeath to my Son Joel Williams one Negro Girl Named Doll now in his possession and also two cows and calves 4th I give and bequeath to my son Frederic Williams one Negro Man Named Adam 5th I Give and Bequeath to my daughter Ann Abernathy one Negro Man named Isaac 6th I give and bequeath to my daughter Amy McGee one Negro Woman Named Sue and her Child. 7th I give and Bequeath to my two sons Charles Williams and David all the stock that I may have at my Descease and the farming utensels to be Equally Divided and I also Give and bequeath to my daughters Mary Bynum and Lucy Williams all my household Furniture of all kinds whatsoever and it is my desire that my Negro Woman Named hannah shall have free liberation to live with any of my children she may choose and not to be treated as a slave and I do hereby utterly disallow Revoke and disallow every other Will and Testament by me heretofore Made Ratifying and confirm this to be my Last Will & Testament.
