MACON COUNTY, NC - CEMETERIES - Ebeneezer Cemetery ----¤¤¤---- Ebeneezer Cemetery survey done on August 21, 2002. Directions: From Franklin take 441 South (Georgia Road) . Turn left on . The cemetery is on the left behind the Longview Community Building. This cemetery is on property belonging to Elias and Velma Buchanan, and they have kept the cemetery in order. Mrs. Buchanan is now in need of assistance in this task. They are no longer able to physically do the work needed to upkeep this cemetery, and are having to pay someone to mow. Mrs. Buchanan has set up a cemetery fund for the upkeep, but unfortunately she has not been able to locate very many descendants and the meager amount in the fund will not cover upkeep for much longer. Anyone with ancestors in this cemetery please consider contributing to its upkeep. The address is Ebeneezer Cemetery Fund c/o Velma Buchanan, 141 Union-Otto Daycare Rd., Franklin, NC 28734. Survey was begun at row closest to the road. The center section of the cemetery has no markers, and although there are few obviously sunken graves, I spotted a few very sunken fieldstones and some areas of ground that could be gravesites sinking. Possibly these are the oldest graves. Many gravestones have been replaced in this cemetery in recent years by caring family. 1st Row (North to south) McConnell Andrew J.
