MACON COUNTY, NC - COURT - NC FEDERAL COURT, MAY 1891 PUBLISHED IN THE FRANKLIN PRESS, May 13, 1891 - Vol. VI, No. 8 The following are a few of the cases disposed of in the Federal Court at Asheville last week: D.M. Mincey, from Macon, tried and acquitted on the charge of breaking into the Ellijay postoffice. Warren Castle, from Macon, for distilling, $100 and two months imprisonment. J.T. Meeks, from Natahala, $100 and one month in jail. John Swafford, of Clay, for robbing the mail, was sent to the reformatory at Louisville and fined $10.
