Know all men by these presents that I Luke Barnard of the County of
Macon and State of North Carolina for and in Consideration of the
Sum of one thousand dollars to me in hand paid by Andrew Barnard of
the County and State aforesaid the Recipt where of is herby
acknowledged have bargained sold alened conveyed and confirmed and
do by this presents bargain sell alen convey and Confirm unto the
said Andrew Barnard a certain tract or parcel of land Situate lying
and being in the County and State aforesaid on the South Side of
Catugajay Creak bounded as follows to wit; Beginning at a Black Oak
south Est Corner of No 11 in District 16 Thence North Twenty Six
poles to the bank of Catugajay Creak thence up SAid Creak with its
meuanders one hundred and fifty eight poles to the mouth of Andrew
Barnards Spring Branch thence South Sixtey West 52 poles to a fork
on Said Branch thence North thirty West Seventy poles to the bank of
Catugajay thence up said Creak with its merianders two hundred and
twenty seven poles to a Chinquipine on the line of No 12 in District
15 Thence East to the Biginning Containning by Computation one
hundred and eight three and a half Acres to be the Same more or less
to have and to hold the Said land together with its appertainances
to the Said Andrew Barnard his heirs and assigns for ever and I the
said Luke Barnard do covinant and agree to and with the Said Andrew
Barnard the above granted land with all the appurtainnances therunto
belonging or in any wise appertaining to warrent and defend to the
Said Andrew Barnard his heirs and assigns for ever in fee Simple
absolute against the Claim or Claims of all and every person
Whatsoever In witness wherof I have herunto Set my hand and Seal
the [blank space] day of February 1829
