one thousand Eight hundred and forty Between David Carpen
-ter of the one part and Zebulon J Thomas of the other
part all of the State of North Carolina and County
of Macon Witnesseth that I the Said David Carpenter for
and in Consideration of the Sum of forty Dollars to me in
hand paid by the said Zebulon J Thomas
