MACON COUNTY, NC - DEEDS - Marcus Daves and John Roper to Henry Hartman

STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA
Macon County
	Know all men by these presents that we the undersigned Marcus Daves,
John Roper, Henry Hartman, have entered into the following Articles of
Agreement, towit that the said Marcus Daves and John Roper bind themselves
to the said Henry Hartman that they will surrender the [property] of the
plantation on which the said Marcus Daves lives, by the first day of January 
next to the said Henry Hartman & John [Walrothe] for the use and benefit of 
the wives of the same, and the said John Roper do further agree to account for 
the rents and profits that he has and may hereafter accrue from the said 
plantation on the account of the present crop.
	The said Henry Hartman agree with the said John Roper to account with
him for the money and interest on the loans that the said Roper paid for the
land to the estate and to account with him for the value of all permanent
improvements made on the lands.
	It is agreed that the accounts shall be taken by H.G. Woodfin, J.R. 
[Jesse] Siler, and R.C. Slagle, and their word to be final between the 
parties.
